Prepare for interviews

Once you have an interview scheduled, TailorFit can help you prepare using the specific job posting and your own background — not generic practice questions.

Interview prep pack

The prep pack costs 2 credits and gives you:

  • Behavioral questions derived from the role's requirements, with notes on what each question is really testing
  • Role-specific technical or domain questions based on the job's tools and duties
  • Comp context: the estimated range for the role and how to approach the compensation conversation

From an application in Interview stage, click "Generate prep pack" from the application detail page.

Interview sessions

After generating a prep pack, you can run interactive practice sessions against the questions. Each session costs 5 credits and lets you work through your answers in a back-and-forth format, with feedback on how to sharpen each response.

Sessions are most useful for behavioral questions — the ones where you need to land on the right story and keep it concise. Technical questions are often better reviewed from the prep pack itself.

Using the prep notes effectively

The prep pack is not a script. Use it to:

  • Build your story map: for each behavioral requirement, which of your experiences is the best example?
  • Identify the questions you are weakest on, and practice those first
  • Settle your comp numbers before anyone asks
Come back to the prep pack the night before the interview. Fifteen minutes of review is usually enough if you prepared it well the first time.

What the analysis covers

TailorFit derives prep questions from the job description and your profile. If the job description has limited detail, the questions will be more general. The more complete the job analysis, the more specific the prep.
