Getting started
TailorFit is built around three things: a profile that captures your real background, a tracker for every application you are working on, and tools that help you understand each role and put your best foot forward. This guide walks you through the full setup from signup to your first tailored resume.
1. Create your account
Sign up at app.tailorfit.io with your email address. You will get a magic link sent to your inbox. Click it and you are in. No password required.
2. Build your profile
The first thing TailorFit does is walk you through your experience. It is a conversation, not a form: you will talk about where you have worked, what you have built, what you are good at, and what you want to do next.
It takes about five minutes, and you only do it once. Every resume you generate will draw from this profile.
If you already have a resume, you can import it instead. TailorFit supports PDF, DOCX, and Google Drive documents. See Import your resume for details.
3. Add a job you are targeting
Once your profile is set up, head to Applications and add the first role you are working on. Paste in the job URL and TailorFit will automatically analyze the posting.
You do not need to have applied yet. Adding roles as soon as you find them interesting is a good habit.
4. See what the analysis shows you
Within a few seconds, you will have a breakdown of the role: the estimated comp range, the required skills versus what is just nice to have, the tech stack, and a few interview questions specific to this company and type of role.
5. Generate a tailored resume
From the application detail page, click "Tailor resume." TailorFit takes your profile and the job analysis and produces a resume that leads with what is most relevant to this particular job. Review it, make any edits you want, and download as PDF or DOCX.
What is next
That is the core loop. Keep adding applications as you go and use the Overview dashboard to see how your search is progressing at a glance.
- Keep your profile up to date as you gain new skills or shift direction
- Log calls and emails in the activity log on each application
- Check the Overview dashboard regularly to spot any slowdowns in your pipeline
